Veteran comedian Brod Pete has openly expressed his admiration for Vice Ganda, calling him the first LGBTQIA+ comedian he has truly looked up to.
In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Brod Pete shared his thoughts on Vice Ganda’s comedy style and why he stands out among other comedians in the industry.
“Ito, aaminin ko sa ‘yo, siya lang ang unang LGBTQ na humanga ako,” Brod Pete revealed.
He explained that while he has seen many comedians throughout his career, Vice Ganda is the first LGBTQ comedian to impress him.
“Dati, walang [nakapagpahanga] sa way ng hanga ko, kasi comedy ako, so alam ko. Siya lang na first time,” he added.
Brod Pete clarified that his admiration for Vice is purely based on his comedic talent and intelligence, rather than personal identity.
“‘Yung mga nauna sa kanya, hindi ko ano… Sorry, nothing personal. It’s nothing about sex of your choice or ano. ‘Yung comedy lang, doon ako ano,” he explained.
