Kapuso hunk actor Derrick Monasterio is comfortable showing off his physique but draws the line at full-frontal nudity.
The actor made it clear that while he has no issue flaunting his toned body and “bukol” in underwear shoots, he won’t go as far as exposing his “talong” on screen.
In a recent guest appearance on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,’ Derrick was asked if he would consider doing a full-frontal scene, similar to what his fellow Kapuso actor Royce Cabrera had done in the past.
Royce, who was also present in the episode, recalled his frontal nudity scene in the Cinemalaya film ‘Fuccbois’ (2019), directed by the late Eduardo Roy Jr.
“May nagawa na kasi po akong film before… Nagawa namin ‘yun,” Royce shared, adding that despite the bold move, he has no regrets as it helped boost his career.
When Boy Abunda asked Derrick if he would ever consider doing a similar role, he quickly responded: “Feeling ko, ‘di ko kaya. Parang sobrang revealing, eh. Para sa akin, ‘yung mga ganu’ng bagay, para lang sa mapapangasawa mo.”
While the actor has graced multiple underwear campaigns and confidently showcased his physique in shirtless photoshoots, he admitted that he sometimes feels objectified.
“Minsan nafi-feel ko rin na nao-objectify ako,” Derrick confessed, referring to his work as an underwear brand endorser. “Pero iniisip ko na lang na wala namang alam ‘yong mga taong ‘yon sa buhay ko, kung ano ‘yong mga napagdaanan ko, at ano ‘yong napag-aralan ko.”
Despite his reservations about going all the way, Derrick remains committed to staying fit, especially as he gears up for the upcoming ‘Body of Work’ fashion show on March 21, 2025, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Meanwhile, Royce Cabrera remains open to taking on daring roles, even if it requires going fully nude again.
“Handa uli akong gawin kung maganda ang project,” Royce stated.
He also revealed that he once received an indecent proposal from a member of the LGBTQ+ community, offering him a seven-figure amount in exchange for “special favors.” Royce, however, politely declined.
Joining Derrick and Royce in the much-anticipated “Body of Work” runway event is fellow Kapuso star Bruce Roeland. While he didn’t confirm if he would have any revealing moments during the show, he teased: “Abangan na lang ninyo.”
Bruce also shared that he has been preparing for the event since January 2025 and is excited to join Derrick, Royce, and other celebrities on the runway.
