Award-winning actress Kathryn Bernardo is reportedly in a new relationship with a young politician, according to showbiz insider Ogie Diaz.
In the latest episode of ‘Showbiz Update’, Ogie shared that a reliable source claimed Kathryn is “taken”, making a romantic reconciliation with ex-boyfriend Daniel Padilla unlikely.
During his conversation with co-hosts Mama Loi and Ate Mrena, Ogie revealed that Kathryn’s rumored new partner is Lucena City Mayor Mark Alcala.
“Ang sabi sa akin ha, ang nagmamay-ari ng puso ni Kathryn ngayon ay walang iba kundi non-showbiz,” Ogie initially teased.
When asked if the mystery man is a viral personality or a politician, Ogie responded, “Politician. Batang politician.”
Ogie went on to reveal that he had previously reached out to Mayor Alcala in mid-2023 to verify the rumors that he was courting Kathryn. However, the young politician did not respond.
“July pa ‘yun ha, so nanliligaw siguro ito—’yung mga panahon na nanliligaw siya,” Ogie recounted.
His source, however, claims that Kathryn and Mark may have officially started dating around November or December 2023, shortly after the release of Kathryn and Alden Richards’ blockbuster film ‘Hello, Love, Again’.
“Kung ako si Mayor Alcala, hindi ako papasok sa eksena kasi KathDen ‘yun eh. Ito ‘yung kasagsagan pa ng showing, inabot ng isang buwan ‘yung showing,” Ogie speculated.
His insider also mentioned that Kathryn and Mark meet discreetly, with the mayor sometimes traveling to Manila, while the actress occasionally visits Lucena.
Despite the intriguing claims, Ogie admitted that there is no solid proof—such as photos or public sightings of the two together—to confirm the relationship.
“Kaya ito hindi confirmed, basta ‘yan ang nakarating sa akin… Importante pa rin na sa kanila mismo marinig sana kung ano ang totoo,” he clarified.
Regardless, Ogie emphasized that since both Kathryn and Mark are single, there is no issue if they are indeed seeing each other.
As of now, neither Kathryn Bernardo nor Mayor Mark Alcala has addressed the rumors.
