The Kapamilya adaptation of the Japanese drama ‘Saving Grace’ just hit a major milestone, finally pulling ahead of rival show ‘Slay’ during their same-time airing and even clinching a surprise victory over Amazing Earth on Friday.
According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People ratings, ‘Saving Grace’, starring Julia Montes, marked its first lead over ‘Slay’ during their simultaneous broadcast on Monday, March 31.
The show earned a 5.0% rating—just 0.1% higher than ‘Slay’, which came in at 4.9% (excluding its delayed telecast rating of 0.3% on GTV).
This marked the first time ‘Saving Grace’ managed to edge out ‘Slay’ in real-time viewership since the two shows began airing head-to-head.
However, ‘Slay’ quickly bounced back the next day, April 1, with a 5.0% rating, regaining a slight lead over ‘Saving Grace’, which dipped to 4.9%.
On Wednesday, April 2, ‘Saving Grace’ repeated its earlier win, scoring 5.4%—again just 0.1% ahead of ‘Slay’, which posted 5.3% (not counting the 0.3% from delayed telecast).
But the battle stayed tight. On Thursday, April 3, ‘Slay’ surged ahead with a strong 5.6% rating, leaving ‘Saving Grace’ behind at 4.7%, a 0.9% gap.
Capping off the week on a high note, ‘Saving Grace’ logged another win—this time during its Friday timeslot—by beating GMA’s Amazing Earth for the first time since its pilot. The Kapamilya drama posted a 5.0% rating, 0.4% ahead of Amazing Earth’s 4.6%.
With back-to-back wins under its belt, the question now is: can ‘Saving Grace’ keep the momentum going? We’ll be watching closely.
