Comedienne and host Kitkat took a swipe at Gene Padilla after actress Marjorie Barretto publicly called him out for his unsolicited remarks about Claudia Barretto’s wedding.
On April 13, Kitkat reposted a screengrab of a news article detailing Marjorie’s viral statement from her interview with Ogie Diaz, where she clarified that only Dennis Padilla and their mother, Catalina Baldivia, were invited to the ceremony. Gene, who earlier aired his frustrations online, was not on the guest list.
“Sorry di ko napigil… tawang tawa lang ako dito…” Kitkat wrote on Facebook.
“FYI: wala ako paki sa mga eksena… natawa lang ako kasi nasopla si Gene… Di ka naman pala invited kasi Gene hahahah…”
The comedienne then revealed she had a past issue with Gene, which she decided to bring up following his involvement in the controversy.
“Well sakin umepal ka din dati, ikaw na pinag simpatyahan ko… pero gumatong at nakipag kampihan ka pa dun sa umaway sakin! Hahaha katatanda at kalalaki nyong tao pinagkaisahan nyo ko!” she added.
Kitkat also recalled being pregnant when the incident happened.
“P.S. DI KO MAKAKALIMUTAN YUN AT BUNTIS NA AKO NON! Hilig nyo manakit ng damdamin ng Babae, Bata, ng Kapwa!”
She ended her post with a cheeky remark: “Makanuod nga nung movie na ‘UNINVITED’.”
Kitkat’s reaction came after Gene Padilla posted a lengthy statement on April 9 expressing disappointment over how his brother, Dennis, was allegedly treated as a mere “guest of the bride” at Claudia’s wedding. According to Gene, they were not informed of Dennis’s exclusion from the program and ended up sitting at the back of the church.
But in her interview with Ogie Diaz, Marjorie firmly addressed Gene’s claims: “Ano ba ang nira-rant mo, Gene? First things first, Gene, no offense, you were not invited to the wedding. Si Mama lang at si Dennis… Wala naman nagsabing gawin mo ‘yun, Gene. Imbes na pinahinahon mo ‘yung kapatid mo, finuel mo pa.”
She continued, “It’s just so—hindi ka invited, Gene. With all due respect, my daughter has no recollection of you. Wala kayong naging relasyon.”
The tension escalated further when Kitkat’s post gained traction online, with many netizens echoing her sentiments and poking fun at Gene’s gatecrashing claims.
