Actress and reelectionist Angelu De Leon emerged as the top councilor in Pasig City’s Second District, according to unofficial results from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) following the May 13 elections.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, De Leon expressed gratitude to her fellow Pasigueños for the overwhelming support.
“Buong puso tayong nagpapasalamat sa tiwalang ibinigay ninyo sa akin upang magsilbi muli para sa ikalawang termino. Hindi ko ito makakamit kung hindi dahil sa inyong suporta,” she wrote.
The former teen star, who recently appeared in GMA’s Pulang Araw, received 197,857 votes, topping the race among 16 candidates in her district.
De Leon pledged to further improve her brand of public service under the “Tapat, Gawa, Ina, Serbisyo” platform.
“Asahan ninyo na mas lalo pa nating pagbubutihin ang Tapat, Gawa, Ina, Serbisyo para sa bawat Pasigueño. Tuloy-tuloy lang ang Pasig sa mabuting paggogobyerno,” she added.
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, Vice Mayor Dodot Jaworski, and Representative Roman Romulo also secured their re-election bids, ensuring the continuation of their governance reforms in the city.
In the First District, re-electionist Kiko Rustia, known for his stint on ‘Survivor Philippines’, also made a strong showing, placing second with 107,696 votes, behind frontrunner Simon Tantoco, who received 112,147 votes.
Other celebrity candidates, however, fell short. Actress Ara Mina ranked 10th in the Second District with 57,572 votes, while Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up Shamcey Supsup placed seventh in the First District with 42,537 votes, just outside the winning six.
Supsup ran as an independent after leaving Christian Sia’s political slate following his controversial comments about single mothers. Sia was later disqualified by the COMELEC just days before the election.
