Independent Manila mayoral candidate Sam “SV” Verzosa has addressed rumors circulating online that he has allegedly run out of funds due to his extensive efforts to help constituents during the campaign period.

In the media interview, Verzosa clarified, “Hindi naman… nabawasan. Siyempre naman ang daming humihingi ng tulong, talagang mababawasan.” He acknowledged that his finances have taken a hit but said he remains focused on both helping people and sustaining his businesses.
“Kailangan kong kumayod, kailangan kong magnegosyo,” he said, pointing to the recent relaunch of his flagship health and beauty product — Luxxe White, now upgraded to Luxxe White Ultima under his company Frontrow. “You think of ways paano mong masu-sustain ‘yung ginagawa mo. Nagawa ko na dati, hindi na siya bago sa akin.”
The entrepreneur-turned-politician also emphasized that once you’ve experienced success, you know how to recreate it: “Alam mo what it takes — discipline, focus, creativity, consistency, hard work… lahat ‘yan normal na sa akin.”
He also denied speculation that Frontrow had shut down amid the campaign: “Sinakyan ng kalaban na nagsara daw ang kompanya. Marketing strategy lang ‘yon. Ngayon pinag-uusapan tayo ng lahat. ‘Yun pala, we came out bigger, better, and stronger.”
Beyond business, Verzosa continues to pour energy into his campaign trail. He shared that he spends an average of eight hours a day going around Manila’s communities. “Siguro more than 100,000 people na ang nakawayan ko. Iyan ang pinakamasaya sa akin — ‘yung makita ko sa kanila ‘yung pag-asa at ngiti.”
He became emotional recalling encounters with residents. “Umiiyak ‘yung iba, kahit mga lalaki. Sinasabi nila, ‘Ikaw ang pag-asa namin, ikaw ang mayor namin. Tulungan mo kami, SV.’”
According to Verzosa, his interactions with Manileños have strengthened his resolve: “Mas napamahal ako sa kanila… baka ito na ‘yung tinadhana sa akin, ito talaga ‘yung gusto ng Panginoon.”
A self-described “problem solver” and civil engineer by profession, Verzosa promised to apply his entrepreneurial mindset to governance. “Kung ano man ang ginawa ko sa buhay ko at sa ibang tao at mga kumpanya ko, puwede kong gawin sa Maynila para matulungan kong umasenso.”
The Maynila mayoral race has become a tight two-way battle between Verzosa and former Mayor Isko Moreno, with recent polls showing a statistical tie.
