Vice Ganda calls for Free Public Transport for Students

Vice Ganda is once again using his platform to advocate for everyday Filipinos — this time proposing a student-centered initiative that’s gaining traction online.

During a segment of ‘Step In The Name of Love’ on ‘It’s Showtime’, the Unkabogable Star shared an idea that many believe should be a real policy: free daily transportation for all students.

He elaborated that under this system, public transport drivers could claim the fare from the government based on the number of student commuters they transport each day.

Vice emphasized that this would significantly ease the financial burden on both students and their parents. “Basic ‘yan — pamasahe. Puwede pa nila itong magastos sa ibang bagay,” he explained.

Vice’s fellow hosts — Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, and Ogie Alcasid — agreed wholeheartedly, noting that such a measure would provide real relief for countless Filipino households struggling with education-related expenses.

While the statement was made during a casual segment, many netizens are now calling on lawmakers to take note and explore the feasibility of such a proposal. After all, as Vice Ganda proved yet again, sometimes the best policy ideas are rooted in empathy — and reality.
