Veteran TV host and former senatorial aspirant Willie Revillame has not officially issued any public statement regarding the outcome of the 2025 midterm elections.
Several social media posts and vlogs have gone viral in recent days, claiming that Revillame broke down in tears and expressed regret over helping the poor after losing in the elections.
Several vloggers and pages have picked up the claim, leading to heated discussions among netizens. Some interpreted the quote as Revillame’s supposed frustration with voters, implying that his years of helping the less fortunate were not appreciated at the polls.
Meanwhile, there is another clip used in other posts that was taken from a March 2025 livestream, well before the May 12 elections. In that earlier video, Revillame expressed frustration over the double standards faced by celebrities who enter politics.
“Sa kampanya, hinahanap artista. ‘Pag nanonood kayo sa sinehan, sino bang pinanonood ninyo? Artista. ‘Pag nakikinig kayo ng music, sino bang pinakikinggan ninyo? Entertainer. Tapos pag tumatakbo na kami at ‘pag gusto naming mag-serbisyo, ayaw niyo? That’s a lot of nonsense,” he said during the stream.
He did not, however, mention anything about withdrawing support for those in need, nor did he directly address any election results in that statement.
As of writing, Revillame has not released any statement about his senatorial defeat, choosing instead to remain quiet as he reflects on the results.
Supporters and commentators are reminding the public to exercise caution against deepfake content and misleading quotes, especially those designed to stir controversy or diminish a public figure’s longstanding charitable reputation.
Revillame is best known for his philanthropic efforts through his television shows, often extending financial and medical assistance to ordinary Filipinos in need.
