Kat Domingo slams lewd online message: ‘Silence is complicity’

ABS-CBN News Channel anchor and reporter Kat Domingo did not hold back after receiving a sexually explicit message from a netizen, calling out the inappropriate behavior on social media.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Domingo shared a screenshot of a direct message she received that read, “Pwede magpa-BJ?” She responded directly, writing: “These kinds of things should never be normalized in any setting — online or offline.

“Wala ho ba kayong nanay, asawa, anak or kapatid na babae for you not to realize how disrespectful & crude this is? May we never tolerate such behavior. Silence is complicity.”

The reporter also updated her followers later, revealing that the photo used by the sender appeared to be AI-generated.

“But regardless of age, ang bastos ay bastos,” she added.

When one user suggested that Domingo should have just ignored the message, she quickly shut down that line of thinking: “’Wag na lang pansinin?’ This is exactly the mindset that normalizes disrespect… Kaya may ganiyang tao dahil pinapabayaan lang sila na gawin yang mga kababuyan na yan without being called out.”

“We don’t want young girls to grow up thinking na this is okay — because it’s not.”

While Domingo did not mention whether she plans to take legal action, her posts sparked widespread support online, with users praising her for taking a stand against online harassment and emphasizing the need for accountability on digital platforms.
