After a run filled with action, heart, and heroism, ‘Lolong: Pangil ng Maynila’ officially wraps up this week, making way for the epic premiere of ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre’ on June 16, airing on GMA Prime and GMA Kapuso Stream.

In an emotional Instagram post, lead star Ruru Madrid shared his heartfelt goodbye to the series and his character. “‘Lolong: Signing off.’ Kagabi, natapos na ang huling taping day ng Lolong. Hanggang ngayon, may sepanx pa rin. What a journey,” he wrote.
Ruru recalled the physical and emotional challenges he faced throughout filming — including a serious foot injury that once left him unable to walk. “Hindi naging madali — may mga sugat, luha, pagod, at sakripisyo… Pero hindi tumigil ang laban,” he shared. “Dahil para sa amin, ang totoong tagumpay ay nasa samahan, sa puso, at sa tibay ng loob.”
He also expressed gratitude to the entire cast, crew, and supporters of the series: “Marami akong natutunan—bilang artista, bilang kakampi, at bilang tao. At lahat ng ito, dadalhin ko habang buhay.”
As Lolong exits, a new legend rises.
Two decades since the original ‘Encantadia’ first captivated Filipino viewers, GMA Network’s legendary fantaserye returns — reimagined for a new generation. ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre’ ushers in a fresh saga of elemental warriors and mythical realms, blending epic fantasy with modern themes of identity, legacy, and destiny.
At the center of the new story is Bianca Umali as Sang’gre Terra, the newest bearer of the Earth Gem, who was raised in the human world unaware of her Encantadian heritage. As chaos looms, Terra embraces her role not just as a diwata, but as a hero destined to protect both realms.

Joining her in this next chapter are: Faith da Silva as Flamarra (Fire), Angel Guardian as Deia (Air), Kelvin Miranda as Adamus (Water), and Rhian Ramos as Mitena, the vengeful Ice Princess turned Queen of Lireo.
Original Sang’gres Glaiza de Castro (Pirena), Kylie Padilla (Amihan), Sanya Lopez (Danaya), and Gabbi Garcia (Alena) also return, bridging generations and passing the torch to the new protectors of ‘Encantadia’.
Directed by Rico Gutierrez and Enzo Williams, and written by a powerhouse creative team led by Suzette Doctolero, Onay Sales-Camero, and National Artist Ricky Lee, Sang’gre promises cinematic visuals, complex characters, and a deeply immersive fantasy experience.
Featuring a stellar ensemble that includes Gabby Eigenmann, Jon Lucas, Bianca Manalo, Mika Salamanca, and more — plus special appearances from Ruru Madrid, Michelle Dee, Lexi Gonzales, and Mikee Quintos — this is one of the most ambitious productions in GMA Network’s history.
Catch ‘ncantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre’ beginning June 16, weeknights at 8:00 PM on GMA Prime, GMA Kapuso Stream, and worldwide via GMA Pinoy TV.
