Ayala Land Hospitality (ALH) and Marriott International today signed an agreement to debut Moxy Hotels in Philippines with Moxy Circuit Makati, joining Marriott’s playful, design-forward lifestyle hotel brand crafted for today’s socially driven, experience-seeking travelers. Located in the heart of Circuit’s 21-hectare development, once the site of the historic Sta. Ana racetrack, the hotel is expected to feature 260 rooms and is perfectly positioned near retail and boutique shops, event grounds, green and active lifestyle spaces, and arts and entertainment venues, making it a premier live-work-play destination.
The agreement was signed by (L-R) George Aquino – President and CEO of Ayala Land Hospitality, Mariana Zobel de Ayala – Senior Vice-President of Leasing and Hospitality of Ayala Land, Inc., Shawn Hill – Chief Development Officer, APEC Marriott International, Kevin Iranzo – Director of Hotel Development – Philippines, Marriott International.
“Moxy Hotels is celebrated worldwide for its playful, high-energy vibe that makes travel feel exciting and different,” said Kevin Iranzo, Director, Hotel Development – Philippines, Marriott International. “It’s the perfect fit for dynamic urban destinations filled with culture and entertainment. We’re truly excited to bring Moxy Hotels to the Philippines and especially in Circuit Makati.”
This milestone follows Ayala Land Hospitality’s bold new chapter, unveiled just months ago, with plans to double its room inventory to 8,000 by 2030 through an ambitious nationwide expansion.
“Our vision remains steadfast: to bring Filipino hospitality to the global stage by crafting experiences that connect guests more deeply with each place and its culture,” said ALH President and CEO George Aquino. “With Moxy Hotels, we offer travelers a playful and vibrant hotel experience. We’re excited to collaborate with Marriott to create what we believe will set a new benchmark for authentic, dynamic, and imaginative urban destinations.”
Moxy Circuit Makati will feature contemporary rooms and suites with playful, multi-functional design and all the creature comforts guests need for an effortlessly fun stay. Arrivals are seamless and social, with check-ins at Bar Moxy where guests can pick up their room key and a signature welcome drink. Throughout their stay, guests can look forward to a smooth work-life blend with access to social spaces, a fitness center, swimming pool, meeting rooms, and event venues.
Bringing to life Moxy’s brand philosophy that is thoughtful, spirited and fun, the hotel is expected to be the perfect social hub for guests seeking a fun and adventurous retreat. True to ALH’s commitment to local talent and creative innovation, the interiors will come alive with graphic storytelling by Filipino comic book artists. Every line, mural, and accent are set to transform the living spaces into canvases of color, movement, and playful energy. Drawing inspiration from the rich visual language of Philippine komiks, the interior artwork weaves humor, nostalgia, and contemporary flair into every corner. It’s a tribute to local artistry and to the timeless Filipino love for storytelling in all its dynamic, colorful forms.
“We are excited to design something truly lifestyle-driven, while beginning to tell the story of a different kind of art form, an ode to the illustrators and komiks artists who have long shaped a powerful visual narrative in the Philippines,” Creative Director Paloma Urquijo Zobel de Ayala shared. “Moxy is set to be our guests’ backstage pass to the city’s creative pulse. From design to service touchpoints, every stay is thoughtfully curated to reflect the spirit of the neighborhood and the moments that matter, always with a dash of fun and a sense of adventure. Whether you’re creatively curious or simply seeking a design-forward, accessible stay, Moxy is poised to become the go-to destination in Manila’s rising arts hub, and we can’t wait to share this project with you.”
As global travelers increasingly look for immersive, culturally rich experiences, ALH’s strategic refresh positions it at the forefront of a new chapter in Philippine tourism — where hospitality goes beyond service to embrace storytelling, sustainability, and an authentic sense of place.
Marriott continues to expand its footprint in the Philippines, where it currently operates 12 properties across six distinct brands, with a strong pipeline, Marriott plans to introduce more of its iconic brands in both established and emerging destinations – reinforcing its commitment to the country’s growing travel and tourism industry.
