Filipino-American singer Jessica Sanchez made a powerful return to ‘America’s Got Talent’ (AGT), receiving a Golden Buzzer from judge Sofia Vergara in an emotional and show-stopping performance that also marked a personal milestone: she’s pregnant with her first child.
Now 29, Sanchez graced the ‘AGT’ stage 20 years after first appearing on the show’s debut season as an 11-year-old. This time, she brought down the house with a heartfelt rendition of Benson Boone’s ‘Beautiful Things,’ earning a standing ovation from judges Sofia Vergara, Simon Cowell, Mel B, and Howie Mandel.
“I was actually on the very first season of America’s Got Talent,” Sanchez shared before her performance. “Throughout the years I kind of fell out of love with music because I was really young. I was so swayed by what everybody wanted me to be, who they wanted me to be.”
“But maybe it took me 20 years, and now I know exactly who I am. And I know exactly what I want. I’m excited to be back,” she added.
After her performance, Sanchez revealed even more joyful news to the judges and the audience: “I found my lane and I’m married now—and another surprising thing—I recently found out that I’m pregnant!”

“You’ve got a voice of a bloody angel,” said Mel B. “I’m lost for words.”
“You blew the roof off the place,” added Howie Mandel. “You are so wonderful.”
Sofia Vergara, visibly moved, then pressed the Golden Buzzer. “There’s something very special that happened on this stage with you. It’s so amazing that we’re on the 20th season of AGT, and you’re here again after 20 years. You’re pregnant, you’re beautiful, you’re so ready for this. This was a special moment, and I think you deserve this,” she said.

Sanchez’s ‘AGT’ return is a full-circle moment for the singer, who rose to fame as the runner-up on ‘American Idol’ Season 11 in 2012. She has since pursued a steady music career, releasing an album and numerous singles—including a recent Christmas EP and multiple tracks in 2024—while also appearing on shows like ‘Glee’ and ‘Idol Philippines’.
Now, with a renewed sense of identity and purpose, Sanchez is ready for her next chapter—both as an artist and as a mother. As Simon Cowell put it backstage: “She’s an absolute star.”
