Katrina Halili admitted she said countless prayers before the much-talked-about meeting between her daughter Katie and Kapamilya actress-vlogger Ivana Alawi.
In Ivana’s now-viral vlog, she is seen taking Katrina’s 13-year-old daughter Katie on a shopping spree — a gesture that touched viewers and quickly racked up millions of views. But behind the heartfelt moment, Katrina revealed in her own vlog that she was anxious leading up to the encounter.
“Yung meeting with Tita Ivana po, hindi po ganun kadali ‘yun. Ang dami ko pong prayers na ginawa diyan,” Katrina shared in her YouTube vlog.
The Kapuso actress said she had a long talk with Katie to prepare her emotionally and mentally for the meeting, and stayed on alert throughout the day.
“Bago magkita, ang dami ko pong explain kay Katie. During… habang nandu’n po ako kasama si Ivana, kasama si Katie, ang dami ko pong dasal, na ‘wag kang bibitaw’. Gusto kong sumigaw na ‘wag kang bibitaw, Katie,’ ganyan,” she recalled.
Thankfully, Katie was on her best behavior the entire time — something Katrina was especially thankful for.
“Hindi ko sinasabing hindi okay si Katie, sobrang okay po niya,” she clarified. “Pero sobrang maganda po ‘yung ipinakita niya during Ivana. Hindi ko po sinasabing masama po siyang tao pero hindi ko rin po sinasabi na wala po siyang nagagawang mga hindi rin maganda. Meron din po.”
“Pero sobrang thankful po ako that day kasi ang bait-bait po niya. Tapos lahat po ng mga naituro ko sa kanya, feeling ko, lumabas po,” she added emotionally.
Katrina has been open about raising Katie as a single mom and navigating the challenges of parenting a child diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Through the years, Katrina has dedicated herself to Katie’s development and therapy.
