A crossover no one saw coming: Kathryn Bernardo and James Reid, once the faces of rival love teams KathNiel and JaDine, are finally joining forces in a teleserye under ABS-CBN’s Dreamscape Entertainment.
On Friday, August 29, Dreamscape confirmed the pairing through a social media post that featured a behind-the-scenes video of Bernardo and Reid in a photo shoot.
“Someone is joining her… and it’s none other than James Reid! ✨ The powerhouse tandem you never saw coming. Asia’s Superstar — Kathryn Bernardo and Multimedia Prince — James Reid, together in a teleserye from Dreamscape Entertainment,” the announcement read.

The reveal immediately sent fans into a frenzy, with supporters coining the moniker ‘KathReid’ and flooding social media with excitement.
The announcement follows Dreamscape’s earlier teaser about Bernardo’s much-awaited television comeback after her last teleserye, ‘2 Good 2 Be True’ (2022). For Reid, this marks his first full-length TV series in eight years since ‘Till I Met You’ (2016), also produced by Dreamscape.
The series’ details remain under wraps, but Reid had hinted at the project in a past interview, saying: “I have a teleserye that currently is in the works. I will be working with a female lead… a very talented actress. I can’t announce just yet. But in due time. We will be taping this year.”
For fans, the wait is finally over — and the unexpected KathReid tandem is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated TV events of 2025.
