Kapuso star Max Collins has come to the defense of Vice Ganda following backlash over the comedian’s controversial “jet ski” joke during the ‘Super Divas’ concert with Regine Velasquez-Alcasid at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on August 8 and 9.

In an interview, Max pointed out that people sometimes take things too seriously.
“You know people are so… people take things so seriously sometimes… I think it’s just fun to be light about things and laugh. If you are not in the mood to laugh, then move on,” she said.
The actress added that performers like Vice only want to spread joy.
“Because I know that at the end of the day, we just want to make people happy as performers,” Max explained.
She also revealed how much she values Vice’s recognition of her talent.
“Hindi ako makapaniwala, parang siya ba nagsasabi niyan? I’m so appreciative sa kaniya, because of her, people really notice me, and I’m so thankful,” she admitted.
Max then returned the praise, describing Vice as a humble and kind person.

“I think she’s so nice, she’s so down to earth and humble. She loves the people around her, sa [It’s] Showtime, you can tell kasi lahat sila masaya doon,” she said.
Max has appeared several times on ‘It’s Showtime’ as a celebrity judge and guest, where she got the chance to work closely with Vice.
