Kapuso rising star and former ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ housemate Shuvee Etrata had a tearful yet touching moment at the GMA Gala 2025, after a heartfelt conversation with ‘Encantadia Chronicles’ creator and veteran scriptwriter Suzette Doctolero.
In a Facebook post that has since warmed hearts online, Doctolero recounted her emotional exchange with the young actress during the star-studded gala held at the Marriott Hotel in Pasay City.
“Nagkita kami ni Shuvee Etrata sa GMA Gala. Binati ko siya, chinika,” wrote Suzette. She recalled watching a past interview of Shuvee where she shared her humble beginnings and being part of a large, financially challenged family. “Touched ako. Naawa. Naka-relate.”
That emotional connection led Suzette to express how proud she was of Shuvee’s progress in her career:
“Sabi ko, ‘Uy Shuvee, sobrang happy ako sa success mo. Balita ko kasi ang dami mong endorsement. Ayan, bene-bless ka na ni Lord. Mabibigyan mo na ng okey na buhay ang pamilya mo.’”
To her surprise, Shuvee began to cry.
“Aba, biglang naiyak. As in tumulo talaga ang luha. Tapos ay hindi na siya makapagsalita kasi nacho-choke na ang emosyon kaya hinawakan niya na lang nang mahigpit ang kamay ko,” Suzette shared.
The moment left a lasting impression on the scriptwriter: “Naging instant fan ako ni Shuvee that night… Authentic siya. Totoong tao. Walang pagpapanggap… May kabuluhan talaga ang lahat ng sakripisyo at may saysay ang bawat tagumpay lalo na kung pinagsikapang marating. Deserve niya lahat ng tagumpay.”

Shuvee, who looked stunning in a white hand-embroidered Rian Fernandez gown with a deep red rose-inspired shawl, also took home the Shopee Super Star Award at the gala.
Doctolero also teased fans to catch Shuvee’s life story on ‘Magpakailanman’, airing on August 9, further underscoring the actress’s growing impact and inspiring journey.
In a follow-up post, Suzette humorously admitted she regretted not giving Shuvee a bigger role in ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre’, saying they had no idea how quickly she’d rise to fame.
