Fresh from his first Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Best Actor win, Vice Ganda returned to the ‘It’s Showtime’ stage on Saturday, August 23, overflowing with gratitude and joy.

The Unkabogable Star admitted that he barely slept the night after receiving his award for ‘And The Breadwinner Is…’, but the happiness remained.
“Sobrang saya ko. It’s an overwhelming joy, immeasurable joy. Hindi ko siya ma-define. Hindi ko siya masukat. Sobrang saya ko talaga. Grabe! Nakakakilabot na saya. Nakakatuwa. Lord, thank you very much. Si Lord talaga, grabe sa timing. Iyang trophy na iyan, that’s the biggest clapback,” Vice said during the live show.
The comedian explained that the award felt like God’s perfect timing, especially after days of being bashed online for his satirical “Jetski Holiday” skit.
“Hindi ka lagi ipapanalo ni Lord sa oras at sa pagkakataong gusto mo. Ipapanalo ka Niya sa tamang pagkakataon kasi Siya ang nakakaalam kung kailan. Maybe I should have won this award noon pa, pero baka hindi ko kailangan noon. Sabi ko nga, maybe He made me win because He wanted to redeem me,” Vice reflected.
Despite the noise on social media, Vice emphasized that he chose silence and faith: “Sabi ko, Lord, hindi ko naman hawak ang cellphone ng mga tao, so hindi ko maco-control kung ano ang pipindutin at ipopost nila about me. Sabi ko, Lord, ikaw na bahala sakin. You control me.”
Vice also reiterated his dedication of the award to breadwinners—especially queer breadwinners—around the world.
“Sa lahat po ng breadwinners na inirepresent ko sa buong mundo, lahat ng mga Filipino breadwinners and most especially sa mga queer breadwinners sa buong mundo, congratulations sa ating lahat,” he said.
