Kapuso actor-host Alden Richards did not hold back against detractors during his hosting stint on a dance reality competition, where he delivered a pointed message on the culture of online criticism.

“I’d like to believe talaga that reaction fuels intention. Dun sa intention ng ibang tao sayo, it only fuels that, depende kung paano ka magre-react towards it,” Alden said after a performance by Zeus Collins and Faith Da Silva.
Turning his comments toward bashers, the Asia’s Multimedia Star continued: “Kaya to everyone, I mean to detractors and bashers, my only question to you guys is that, what have you done lately to make a difference in the society? Tingin-tingin din sa salamin ‘pag may time.”
Fellow Kapuso star Marian Rivera, who also serves as one of the competition’s judges, echoed his sentiments: “Sa mga tao, napakadaling magsalita ng mga masasakit na salita na hindi nila alam ang epekto sa taong pinagsasabihan nila.”
Richards is no stranger to online bashing—from questions about his personal life and relationships to criticism over his speeches. Yet he continues to respond with resilience, often reminding fans and critics alike of the importance of perspective and accountability.
The ‘All-Out Sundays’ and ‘Stars on the Floor’ mainstay has also been vocal about issues beyond showbiz. On September 21, he posted Instagram stories in support of nationwide protests against corruption, writing: “Walang titigil… walang mananahimik. Sobra na… tama na!”
