Kapuso actress and TV host Gabbi Garcia has joined the growing number of celebrities voicing out against corruption and poor governance in the country, particularly in light of the controversial flood control projects now under investigation.

In an interview with GMA Integrated News, Garcia said it is time for Filipinos to take a stand.
“We all know what’s going on. It’s about time people should speak up, people should fight for what’s right, and we have to hold people accountable for all of their actions,” she stressed.
The actress then made a firm appeal: “Tama na, tama na ang pagtitiis.”
Just days before, Garcia also posted a meaningful update on her social media, sharing snippets of her travels abroad with the caption: “Rich in life ’cause I can travel the world & live my best days with my own hard-earned money.”
According to her, the post was meant to inspire others: “That post is really to inspire people na be proud if it’s your own hard-earned money,” she explained.
Her statement comes at a time when public anger continues to mount over the alleged misuse of billions of pesos in government flood control projects, as well as the flaunting of lavish lifestyles by individuals reportedly linked to officials and contractors involved in the anomalies.
