Actor Paulo Avelino voiced his support for the September 21 rallies against corruption, even if he was unable to join the mass protests at Luneta Park and the EDSA Shrine on Sunday.

On X (formerly Twitter), Paulo lamented how Filipinos are treated by those in power: “Nakakarindi na dahil ang tingin nila sa atin ay tanga.”
In another post, he affirmed his solidarity with the demonstrators calling for accountability and good governance: “Hindi man ako makakadalo sa rally laban sa korupsyon, buo ang suporta ko sa panawagan para sa pananagutan at malinis na pamamahala.
Mahalaga sa akin ang laban na ito at bagama’t wala ako sa mismong pagtitipon, kaisa rin ako sa adhikain para sa integridad at pagbabago.
Managot na ang dapat managot. Makulong na ang lahat ng dapat makulong.”
Paulo’s statement came as thousands of protesters gathered in Metro Manila to denounce alleged anomalies in flood control projects.
At Luneta Park, groups such as the Makabayan bloc, League of Filipino Students, Sinag Bayan, and the Student Movement of the Philippines began their march toward Mendiola.
Meanwhile, participants in the Trillion Peso March who assembled at the EDSA Shrine earlier in the day also moved toward the People Power Monument to continue protest activities.
