Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez aired her dismay over the country’s persistent corruption woes, questioning whether those responsible will ever be held accountable.

In a short but striking post on X (formerly Twitter) last September 28, Velasquez wrote: “Ang tanong may magbabalik ba ng mga ninakaw nila???? May mapaparusahan ba???? Lord save us.”
Her statement drew strong reactions online, with many netizens echoing her frustration.
Others pointed to past scandals, such as the pork barrel scam and the Pharmally controversy, where investigations made headlines but no major officials faced lasting consequences. Some expressed anger that while politicians enjoy wealth and power, ordinary Filipinos are left to suffer the effects of poor governance, floods, and heavy taxation.
This is not the first time Velasquez has spoken out about corruption. In an earlier post, she criticized how ordinary citizens endure strict requirements and collateral demands just to access financial aid, while corrupt officials seem able to pocket millions with little resistance.
