Former actor and ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Unlimited’ winner Slater Young has found himself dragged into the raging controversy over allegedly anomalous flood control projects, after a netizen questioned whether he too had profited from taxpayers’ money.

Young, who has since built a career in the construction and real estate industry, quickly shut down the speculation.
“I do not have any government projects,” he wrote on Instagram Stories after sharing a screenshot of a netizen’s comment that read: “Did u also benefit from Filipino people’s tax money? I am disappointed.”
Young, now CEO of Monterrazas Prime in Cebu and owner of Litecrete Philippines, said that despite two decades in the construction industry, he has never amassed the kind of wealth being flaunted online by children of contractors under scrutiny.
“20 years na ako sa construction, wala pa rin akong Rolls Royce, ayaw kog damaya,” he said, adding in jest: “Akong payong sa sakyanan give away ras bangko. Don’t me.”
His remarks come as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered a lifestyle check on officials and contractors linked to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) projects. Many of these projects were flagged as “ghost” or substandard, worsening flooding across Metro Manila and nearby provinces despite billions in government allocations.
