Kapamilya actress Chie Filomeno has spoken up against the wave of online hate she’s been receiving, saying she’s had enough of people belittling and misjudging her.
On Friday, October 10, Chie took to Instagram Stories to share an art card from Inquirer.net that quoted her previous statement: “I may be a public figure but I am not a public property. I ask that my private part remain private.”

Alongside it, she wrote a lengthy message addressing those who continue to criticize her, even after she had already clarified previous issues.
“People have thrown dirt on my name, others given me flowers. It’s all a garden to me,” Chie began. “Lagi naman ganun, no? When you finally stand up for yourself, some people will still find something to criticize or belittle you. If I stay silent, I’m guilty. Tagal niyo na ganyan—kahit anong issue, kahit sinong artista—wala pa rin kayong pagbabago hanggang ngayon.”
Chie admitted that she has chosen to “pick her battles,” but this time, she felt the need to respond.
“Since patolera daw ako (kayo na rin nagsabi niyan), I choose my battles wisely. Okay, this time… I’ll make patol,” she wrote. “I will not allow anyone to belittle me, especially the people close to my heart.”
The actress also called out those who hide behind fake accounts to spread negativity and hate.
“I’ve seen how some hide behind dummy accounts, private profiles, or worse—create new ones just to hurt others. That’s not right. Not right at all. Tigilan niyo na, please,” she said.

Chie stressed that as a public figure, she still deserves respect and boundaries, saying she will continue to use her platform to promote awareness about online behavior.
“I will speak when I feel it’s necessary—dahil tao pa rin ako. Tao pa rin kami. Ang ingay-ingay na ng mundo natin. Mas mabuti unahin na lang natin ang mas mahalagang bagay, tulad ng flood control at ang malakas na lindol sa Cebu at Davao,” she urged.
She ended her post by calling for compassion and empathy amid the country’s recent calamities.
“Let’s also pray for those affected by the earthquake and the floods. Hindi ‘yung buhay ng ibang tao ang inaatupag niyo,” she wrote.
Chie’s statement comes amid continued public speculation about her personal life following her rumored breakup with actor Jake Cuenca. The actress previously appealed to the public not to drag private individuals—particularly the Lhuillier family of Cebu, with whom she has been linked—into the issue.
“They don’t deserve to be dragged into something that has nothing to do with them,” she said earlier.
