Actress and influencer Chie Filomeno is once again the talk of social media — this time, after a TikTok post showcasing her new “classy” image drew mixed reactions from netizens.

In the video captioned “That feeling when your visa gets approved,” Chie appeared in a simple blue long-sleeved polo tucked into denim jeans — a minimalist look that some fans described as effortlessly elegant.
However, one commenter couldn’t resist throwing shade, asking: “Ba’t classy na ang datingan natin ngayon?”
Chie responded calmly but with confidence, writing: “I’ve always been classy. You’re just selective. Have a good day.”
Her poised yet pointed reply quickly went viral, earning both praise and criticism. While fans commended her for standing her ground, others mocked her, questioning her definition of “classy.”
Some of the comments read: “Parang laging may pinapatunayan itong si Chie!” “Button-down shirt + hair up = classy na?” “Todo effort si ate para mabago image niya!”
Despite the negativity, Chie didn’t back down. In previous posts, she has been vocal about the online bashing she’s endured since rumors of her breakup with actor Jake Cuenca surfaced, and her name became linked to Cebu businessman Matthew Lhuillier.
In an earlier Instagram post, Chie addressed her critics, writing: “When you finally stand up for yourself, some people will still find something to criticize or belittle you. If I stay silent, I’m guilty. Tagal niyo na ganyan—kahit anong issue, kahit sinong artista—wala pa rin kayong pagbabago.”
She added that she has learned to choose her battles wisely but won’t allow anyone to belittle her or the people close to her.
“I will not allow anyone to belittle me, especially the people close to my heart. I’ve seen how some hide behind dummy accounts just to hurt others. That’s not right. Tigilan niyo na, please,” she said.
Chie ended her statement with a reminder to focus on what truly matters, saying, “The world is already noisy. Let’s prioritize what’s important—helping others and praying for those affected by the recent earthquake and floods in Cebu and Davao.”
