Actress Chie Filomeno surprised netizens after revealing that fellow actress Sofia Andres had blocked her on Instagram — fueling speculation that the two have had a falling-out.
The revelation came after Chie posted a lengthy message on her Instagram Stories last Friday, October 10, addressing the nonstop criticism she’s been receiving online.
“People have thrown dirt on my name, others given me flowers. It’s all a garden to me,” she began. “When you finally stand up for yourself, some people will still find something to criticize or belittle you. If I stay silent, I’m guilty… And then if I speak up, kasalanan ko na naman or I’m guilty.”
Filomeno added that while she usually chooses her battles wisely, “this time… I’ll make patol.”
As fans flooded her comment section, one netizen tagged Sofia Andres, writing: “@iamsofiaandres, may sinasabi oh.”
To which Chie replied, “Hindi niya makikita kasi blinock niya ako and I didn’t unfollow her.”
Her comment immediately stirred discussion online, with many curious about what caused the apparent rift between the two actresses — once believed to be on friendly terms.
In a separate reply to another follower, Chie clarified that her post was not directed at Sofia but said, “I didn’t start it. This post isn’t even about her. She loves to post ‘cryptic’ things and use God’s name in vain, not me.”
Neither Chie nor Sofia has explained the root of their misunderstanding, but some netizens speculated that tension may have started due to Chie’s rumored connection with Matthew Lhuillier, a relative of Sofia’s long-time partner Daniel Miranda.
Others claimed Sofia was the one who introduced Chie to Matthew — though none of these claims have been confirmed.
Despite the controversy, Chie ended her statement by calling for more meaningful conversations instead of online hate: “It’s about time people understand their boundaries. I will speak when I feel it’s necessary — dahil tao pa rin ako. Tao pa rin kami.”
