They say when a woman cuts her hair, she’s about to change her life. So for Direk Joson, could this fresh pixie be a celebration of her booming career, a new life, new friends, or perhaps… a new romance?
Internationally acclaimed filmmaker and socialite philanthropist Emille Joson turned heads after bringing back her most celebrated pixie haircut, the same look that inspired the Funko Pop Alaga Producers Cooperative Limited Edition merchandise seen in toy stores online.
Known to many as a simple Bulakenya yet celebrated as a powerful inspiration for women and the LGBTQ+ community, Joson once again proved that confidence and boldness never go out of style.
Recently, the filmmaker posted a photo on her social media, showcasing her fresh haircut, earning praise from friends and netizens for her chic new look. However, in a radio interview today, some couldn’t help but ask about the rumored special someone frequently spotted with her.

Joson said she prefers to keep her personal life private, adding that, for now, she feels more confident talking about her career. She shared that she’s happiest spending time with her family, and friends in private and is grateful to be away from the public eye in her hometown of Bulacan and she appreciate new fans globally, but she doesn’t want to be owned by the public like her movies. Joson also admitted that she’s openly dating, but it’s not in her nature to publicize what’s going on behind the scenes.
“At 33, I’m no longer that girl who shares every move online, travels, gimiks and all. Growth taught me that mystery looks better than oversharing. Naging source or communication ang social media. It’s very peaceful. Unless if talagang dapat iaddress, then I’ll speak!”
She added that she’s now happier, finding balance between her thriving career, co-operating their family business “Alaga Producers Cooperative” and her private life.
