‘It’s Showtime’ dancer-host Jackie Gonzaga has finally addressed persistent rumors linking her to co-host Darren Espanto.
In her guesting on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ last Thursday, October 2, Gonzaga was directly asked if she and Espanto were already in a relationship.
“Oo, hindi, kayo na ba ni Darren Espanto?” Boy asked.
“Hindi po kami ni Darren,” Jackie answered firmly. When pressed further if the singer was courting her, she clarified, “Hindi naman din po.”
According to Gonzaga, their closeness on the noontime show has been misinterpreted by some viewers as something more.
“Sa amin po sa It’s Showtime sobrang close po naming lahat. ‘Yung relationship namin talaga doon, iba po talaga. Kasi every day, tito, talagang magkakasama,” she explained.
The chemistry between Jackie and Darren first caught public attention during their Magpasikat performance for the show’s 15th anniversary. Since then, their playful exchanges on-air and the teasing from fellow hosts have fueled speculations about a possible romance.
During the program’s ‘Fast Talk’ segment, Jackie also admitted that the people showing interest in her lately are younger than she is.
“Lately, parang ‘yung mga lumalapit sa’kin, younger talaga sa’kin,” she shared, though she did not give further details about her current dating status.
