Speculations are swirling anew around celebrity couple Julia Barretto and Gerald Anderson after veteran columnist Cristy Fermin claimed the two have rekindled their romance—and that the actor has already purchased a diamond ring.
In the October 2 episode of her online show ‘Showbiz Now Na’, Fermin broke the news to viewers, calling it a “napakagandang balita” for fans of the two stars.
“Naka-order na ng diamond ring si Gerald,” Fermin revealed.
She went on to share that despite reports of their breakup four months ago, Barretto and Anderson reconnected during the wake of Julia’s late uncle, Mito Barretto.
“Alam po natin ang naganap apat na buwan na ang nakararaan, nagkahiwalay sila, hindi nagkikita, hindi nag-uusap at ang balita ayaw na ni Julia dahil may natuklasan siya kay Gerald, ‘di ba? … At hindi natin akalain na doon nagtagpo ulit sina Julia Barretto at Gerald Anderson sa lamay. Sabay silang dumating at sabay na umalis at muli silang nagkasundo,” Fermin recounted.
Her co-hosts Romel Chika and Wendell Alvarez agreed, with Romel adding: “Siguro hinanap nila na kung magkakabalikan tayo, siguro tayo talaga, pag hindi, e di hindi.”
Fermin admitted she was surprised by the development, saying she initially thought the relationship had ended for good.
“Na-ano lang ako sa mga biglaang pangyayari! Nanlalamig ang kamay ko kasi ang akala ko talaga ay tuluyan na silang magkakahiwalay dahil si Julia mismo ang nagsabing ayaw na niya,” she said.
The veteran showbiz insider described it as a positive turn after nearly six years of being together.
“Ito ay napakagandang balita dahil ilang years nga naman sila, anim na taon at ‘wag sayangin. Kaya nakakatuwa ‘yun at malalaman pa po natin ang mga detalye sa darating na araw at kailangan munang magsalita nina Gerald at Julia kung gaano katotoo ang kwentong ito,” Fermin added.
Fermin also pointed out that the rumored reconciliation appears to have set aside past controversies, including Gerald’s rumored involvement with volleyball player Vanie Gandler and Julia being linked to businessman Lucas Lorenzo.
“Nabalewala na ang mga nakaraan, nabalewala na ang third party issue na ‘yan, wala na lahat,” she stressed.
As of writing, neither Barretto nor Anderson has released an official statement confirming the status of their relationship or the alleged engagement.
