Following ‘The Voice Kids Philippines’’ win as Best Adaptation of an Existing Format (Non-Scripted) and her song ‘Gemini’ bagging Best Theme Song or Title Theme at the 2025 Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA), Julie Anne San Jose couldn’t hide her joy and gratitude.

“Of course, I’m very happy and it’s such a great honor,” Julie shared. “Natutuwa ako kasi narerecognize ang mga projects na ginagawa namin with GMA Network. I’m just very grateful to be part of those projects. Sobrang malaking pasasalamat po sa AACA for the recognition. I also want to dedicate it to my colleagues, hindi naman ito lahat mangyayari kung hindi din po dahil sa buong production and to everyone who’s behind these projects.”
Known for her versatility as a performer, Julie also spoke about what she looks for in contestants as a coach on ‘The Voice Kids Philippines’.
“I can say na sobrang dami rin kasi talagang magagaling dito sa batch na ‘to for this year,” she said. “Given na kasi yung talent talaga nila and may skill sets na kasi sila—yung iba parang pro na talaga. Yung iba naman, first time sumali sa ganitong competition. For me, kahit ano, kasi what really matters is yung magiging journey namin together, from the very beginning hanggang matapos yung show. It’s really the progress na tatrabahuhin namin at kung ano yung maitutulong ko dun sa mga bata.”
As for the upcoming battle rounds, Julie shared how emotionally demanding yet rewarding the process can be.
“It’s gonna be a great experience kasi halo-halo talagang emotions—may excitement, lungkot, and at the same time it’s also scary because as coaches we have to be careful of what we have to say to them,” she explained. “We have to be mindful kasi kapag bata, naaabsorb nila lahat at sobrang tumatatak sa kanila yung mga sasabihin mo. As much as possible, we try to just keep it positive para sa kanila and we have to be strong.”
Julie also shared a heartfelt message for her young contestants: “Ang competition kasi may mananalo at meron din kasing matatalo, pero lagi naming sinasabi sa kanila na just keep going lang and stay strong. Just keep on singing—and if you love what you do, no one and nothing can stop you from doing what you love.”
Julie Anne San Jose joins Billy Crawford, Zack Tabudlo, and Paolo and Miguel Benjamin of Ben&Ben as coaches for ‘The Voice Kids Philippines Season 3’, which premiered on GMA Network last September 14.
