Actress Kris Bernal has spoken up about accusations that she’s trying to imitate Heart Evangelista, saying she only admires the style icon and never intended to copy her.
In an interview for the talk show ‘Your Honor’, the Kapuso star laughed off the comparisons and said she doesn’t even live the same lifestyle as Heart.
“Hindi ko alam bakit. Kasi kung feeling Heart Evangelista ako, edi sana mayroon din ako ng mga Bulgari niya, ‘yung mga lahat ng alahas niya. O kaya mayroon akong mga kasing dami ng Birkin niya. Wala naman akong mga gano’n, Diyos ko,” Kris said.
She added that while she looks up to Heart, admiration shouldn’t be mistaken for imitation.
“Ginagaya ba in a way? Kasi hindi ko naiintindihan ‘yung ginagaya. Ako talaga, sabihin ko, idol ko talaga si Heart,” she clarified.
Kris also shared that seeing Heart’s glamorous posts and luxury fashion pieces doesn’t make her envious—it inspires her to work harder and grow as a person and entrepreneur.
“Na-inspire ako na parang, kailangan ko pa magtrabaho o parang gusto ko pa mag-open ng business para mabili ko ‘yan. Pero okay lang din naman sa akin na hindi. Masaya naman ako na ito lang mayroon,” she said.
Heart Evangelista, widely regarded as a global fashion icon, continues to make waves internationally through her appearances at Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks.
