The country’s biggest construction expo, PHILCONSTRUCT 2025, opened its doors last November 6–9 at the SMX Convention Center and World Trade Center Metro Manila, gathering thousands of builders, engineers, architects, suppliers, and innovators eager to explore the latest trends shaping the nation’s infrastructure landscape.

Now in its 36th year, PHILCONSTRUCT continues to strengthen its nationwide reach, with simultaneous regional shows in Clark, Cebu, and Davao. “We are on our 36th Philconstruct event nationwide,” said Gerardo V. Pancho, President and CEO of C.M. Pancho Construction Inc. “Here in Manila, we want to attract more visitors and let them see new products and technologies from both international and local exhibitors. Each year, we’re improving — we’re increasing in visitors and exhibitors, and that’s what we want to achieve.”
The Manila edition featured hundreds of exhibitors from around the world, presenting advanced construction machinery, sustainable materials, and digital tools that redefine how projects are designed and delivered. With its scale and impact, Pancho noted that organizers are even eyeing larger venues to accommodate the growing event.
“Philconstruct is now one of the biggest in Asia. We’re looking for bigger venues in some parts of the country. In Manila, we’re quite happy with the floor area, but in other regions, we’ll need to expand,” he said.
This year’s theme, ‘Shaping the Future of Construction,’ highlights the industry’s embrace of digitalization, artificial intelligence, and sustainable practices.
“In doing construction in the Philippines, there are so many requirements… like compliance with environmental laws,” Pancho explained. “For the past two years, we’ve been transitioning toward digitalization and transformation to artificial intelligence. There are already software applications for vertical construction like buildings, and horizontal ones for roads and bridges. We’re still developing new tools to become more efficient.”

Beyond its expansive exhibition floor, PHILCONSTRUCT 2025 hosted TechnoForum, a series of technical sessions aimed at upskilling contractors and promoting good governance and transparency.
“Aside from new products and technologies, we’re offering technoforums with topics that will help contractors achieve good quality and early completion,” said Pancho. “We’re also working on rebuilding public trust through ethical and transparent practices.”
Complementing the main expo was HVAC/R Philippines, the country’s leading platform for heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems, featuring energy-efficient and climate-responsive innovations for modern buildings.

Running alongside the expo was the Estilo De Vila Interior Design Competition, which returned with the theme ‘Hospitality: Design Lokal – Filipino Roots, Global Form.’

The competition challenged design students to reinterpret Filipino identity through hospitality spaces — particularly hotel lobbies — that fuse indigenous materials and craftsmanship with contemporary global sensibilities.
“This captures the essence of who we are as Filipinos — warm, welcoming, and deeply rooted in our heritage, yet ready to embrace the world,” said Francisco “Paqui” Gonzales Jr., Chairperson of Estilo De Vila.
“In today’s global landscape, where design evolves rapidly, we find strength in going back to our roots — reimagining local materials, reviving traditional techniques, and giving them a global form. We not only preserve our culture, but we also elevate it.”
Gonzales added that the competition serves as a bridge between tradition and innovation. “Estilo De Vila creates a dialogue between the local and the global, between heritage and modernity — uniting designers, architects, and artists under one vision: to redefine what it means to be Filipino in the realm of design and hospitality.”
Organized by the Philippine Constructors Association, Inc. (PCA), PHILCONSTRUCT remains the cornerstone of the country’s construction and design community, serving as a powerful platform for collaboration, innovation, and cultural pride.
