Internet star and comedian Sassa Gurl is taking her career to the next level as both lead star and producer of ‘Multwoh’ (Patay na Patay Sa’yo), one of the seven finalists in the 2026 Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival.

Sassa described the project as a “dream come true,” saying it represents the culmination of all her hard work in the entertainment industry.
“Actually, it’s a culmination ng lahat ng aking pinaghirapan,” she said. “Ngayon ko na-realize kung gaano kahirap mag-prodyus, buti na lang may mga brands na naniwala at naging kakampi namin.”
The horror-comedy film, directed by Rodina Singh, follows a queer protagonist who dies before confessing her feelings — a story that blends camp humor with heartfelt themes of love and identity.
“Ine-expand natin ‘yung mundo ng kabaklaan dito,” Sassa explained. “Grabe ang pagmamahal ng bakla—pasabog talaga. Para kaming Multwoh: kahit deadmahin mo kami, mararamdaman mo pa rin.”
Although Sassa joked about being “jealous” of EJ Jallorina’s love scene with Tony Labrusca in ‘Dreamboi’, she clarified that ‘Multwoh’ will cater to a broader audience.
“Naku, ayaw ni Aling Puring ng ganoong lampungan!” she quipped, referring to Puregold’s wholesome brand image.
Beyond her new producer role, Sassa expressed deep admiration for Vice Ganda, calling the Unkabogable Star her biggest inspiration but emphasizing that she doesn’t want to be compared to her idol.
“Meme is Meme. Iyong mga nagawa niya, nag-extend hindi lang sa mga tao kundi pati sa mga babae at maraming bakla. I will never ever be Vice Ganda dahil kakaiba ‘yung mga nagawa niya. I want to be my own self—Sassa Gurl. Ito ‘yung sinabi niya sa akin: ‘You have your own identity.’”
She also shared her ultimate dream: “Pangarap kong makatrabaho si Meme. If our schedules allow, I will be very excited to work with her.”

Multwoh joins six other finalists in the 2026 CinePanalo Film Festival lineup:
- ‘Wantawsan’ by Joseph Abello
- ‘Mono No Aware’ by BC Amparado
- ‘Apol of My Ai’ by Thop Nazareno
- ‘Patay Gutom’ (Dead Hungry) by Carl Papa and Ian Pangilinan
- ‘Beast’ by Lawrence Fajardo
- ‘Stuck on You’ by Mikko Baldoza
Each full-length finalist receives a ₱5 million production grant, according to festival director Chris Cahilig.
With Multwoh, Sassa Gurl not only steps into a new chapter as a filmmaker but also reaffirms her commitment to telling stories that celebrate authenticity, courage, and the ever-evolving spectrum of Filipino identity.
