VinFast has introduced its Residual Value Guarantee (RVG) Program in the Philippines, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the local electric vehicle (EV) market that promises to buy back a customer’s VinFast EV for up to 90% of its original value within the first three years of ownership.

The program, which applies to units sold beginning October 20, 2025, aims to ease Filipino consumers into EV ownership by addressing one of the segment’s biggest concerns: resale value.
Under the RVG Program, eligible customers may return their vehicle to VinFast based on a fixed depreciation schedule:
- 90% of the vehicle’s net value after 6 months
- 86% after 1 year
- 78% after 2 years
- 70% after 3 years
The “net value” refers to the suggested retail price (SRP) minus any discounts applied at purchase.
The offer covers the entire VinFast lineup in the Philippines, including the VF 3, VF 5, VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9. The program is exclusive to retail buyers and does not apply to fleet purchases.
To qualify, vehicles must: Have no major damage, be non-flooded, have mileage below 25,000 km and undergo a required inspection.
Minor cosmetic wear is allowed, but issues affecting performance must be resolved under warranty before assessment. Customers must pay a ₱900 inspection fee, after which VinFast will issue a purchase offer. Processing of payouts takes one to three weeks once accepted.
VinFast Southeast Asia CEO Antonio Zara said the RVG Program is designed to eliminate buyer hesitation, particularly among first-time EV users.
“With a residual value guarantee of up to 90 percent, we want to make EV ownership more accessible and reassuring for Filipino consumers,” Zara said.
The RVG Program complements the company’s existing ownership benefits, including:
- Up to 10-year vehicle warranty
- Three years of free charging via partner network V-Green
- 24/7 technical and roadside assistance
- Flexible financing options
- Expanding EV Presence in the Philippines
VinFast continues to grow its presence in the country with electric SUVs, e-scooters, and e-buses, supported by a nationwide network of dealerships, maintenance partners, and charging collaborators. The company said it will further expand its distribution and after-sales network in key Philippine locations as EV adoption accelerates. (with reports from Lau Balocos)
