Actor Aljur Abrenica has reportedly given a reminder to his estranged wife, Kylie Padilla, when it comes to men who may pursue her, a detail the actress shared during a recent episode of the podcast ‘Your Honor’ hosted by Chariz Solomon and Buboy Villar.
According to Kylie, the conversation came up in August when she and Aljur took their sons, Alas and Axl, to a circus show. While she could no longer recall who first opened the topic, she remembered Aljur offering unsolicited advice.
“Hindi ko alam if nagtanong siya or I brought it up, I don’t know. Tapos parang sinabi niya lang na, ‘mag-ingat ka sa manliligaw mo ah,’” Kylie recalled.
She added that Aljur was aware she is currently single, and when she mentioned that someone was courting her, he shared his opinion. Asked whether she appreciated the concern, Kylie said she was fine with it, noting that she likewise does not interfere in Aljur’s personal life.
Despite their separation, Kylie said their co-parenting relationship has improved, describing their current setup as peaceful. She shared that they are now able to talk more openly, sometimes even feeling like friends again.
“Nu’ng nag-circus kami, lumabas ulit ‘yung bond na parang magtropa,” she said, while admitting that this dynamic is not always consistent.
Kylie also opened up about one of the most challenging aspects of co-parenting—explaining their separation to their children. She recalled a moment when their son Alas asked her a painful question.
“May one time kasi nagtatanong si Alas bakit kayo naghiwalay? … ‘Does Papa not love you?’ Ganoon ‘yung tanong niya sa akin,” she shared.
She said she tried to explain the situation calmly and chose not to show strong emotions in front of her son. Kylie also said she asked Aljur to personally explain things to their child.
“Ang kinausap ko, diniretso ko na si Aljur na ganito ang sinabi ng anak mo. Please explain. Mas magandang manggaling sa ’yo, kesa sa akin,” she added.
Kylie Padilla and Aljur Abrenica married in 2018 and separated in 2021 following Aljur’s admission of infidelity. Aljur is now in a relationship with actress AJ Raval, with whom he has three children.
