Moviegoers at this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) will be in for an unexpected treat as Philippine Airlines (PAL) will make a surprising appearance on the big screens with a compelling drama that puts safety at the heart of the story.
In this season filled with star-studded blockbusters, the country’s flag carrier initially made buzz online from the teasers for their original Safetynovela ‘Care That Comes From The Heart’, a fresh, new take on the airline safety video, giving it an entertaining telenovela twist to keep passengers engaged.

‘Care That Comes From The Heart’ stars Philippine television’s young and up-and-coming talents Jay Gonzaga, Kelley Day, and Khalid Abdullah. Directed by Marius Talampas with creative agency BBDO Guerrero, the film pays homage to the Filipino teleserye culture that audiences loved growing up all while delivering safety guidelines.
Alvin Miranda, Vice President for Marketing at Philippine Airlines said: “Showcasing our safety film at the Metro Manila Film Festival season allows us to celebrate Filipino storytelling in our own way. The upcoming Safetynovela carries a strong artistic vision and a whole lot of heart, and we hoped to give audiences something to look forward to in their travels.”
The soon to premiere safety film marks a first for Philippine Airlines — one that bridges the worlds of safety and entertainment through the lens of uniquely Filipino emotion and artistry.
Aside from the Metro Manila Film Festival, the film will be premiering in the skies soon on Philippine Airlines new fleet, the A3500-1000, and will also be available to watch on PAL’s official social media pages.
