Pure Culture, the pioneering Filipino skincare brand globally-awarded for its toxin-free, biocompatible, and microbiome-friendly formulations, proudly announces the expansion of its leadership team with the addition of esteemed actress and cultural icon Angel Aquino as Cofounder and Co-Creator.

This landmark collaboration represents a significant evolution for Pure Culture—not simply a partnership, but a creative and strategic alliance built on shared values, purpose-driven beauty, and a deep commitment to elevating clean, conscious skincare in the Philippines.

Pure Culture was founded by Alex Gentry, Rina dela Calzada, Kim Palanca, and Steph Oller, with a mission to create science-forward products that work in harmony with skin and planet. Aquino’s entry into the company marks a historic moment for the brand—its first-ever partnership with a public figure, and its first time welcoming a celebrity cofounder into its leadership circle.

Aquino has long been admired for her thoughtful approach to beauty, her advocacy for intentional living, and her authenticity—qualities that deeply resonate with Pure Culture’s ethos. Her long-standing personal commitment to mindful choices and safer, cleaner products made her involvement a natural progression.

As cofounder, Aquino is actively involved in shaping the brand’s long-term vision, product storytelling, and consumer education. She also collaborated closely with Pure Culture’s founding team to curate her personal skincare selections—two new kits designed to help consumers experience her own mindful routines.

Her AM picks include crowd-favorite Bulgarian Rose Everything Elixir, Dream Drops Universal Hydro-Oil, and Dream Shield Universal Day Cream SPF 50. At night, her beauty routine includes the Bulgarian Rose Everything Elixir, Wild Algae Glow Up Serum, and Bulgarian Rose Glad Gold Satin Crème.

Pure Culture curated special sets for more people to try Aquino’s beauty routine. The creation of these curated sets reflects Aquino’s hands-on role within the company and her dedication to helping Filipinos build thoughtful, effective skincare practices rooted in purity, science, and sustainability.

“Angel Aquino is more than a muse—she is a creator, a thinker, and a woman whose values align seamlessly with Pure Culture,” the founders said in a statement. “Her joining the company as cofounder is a full-circle moment built on shared passion, mutual respect, and a collective desire to redefine what Filipino beauty brands can stand for.”

Aquino expressed enthusiasm for this new chapter, sharing that Pure Culture’s philosophy mirrors her own belief in caring for oneself without compromising health, ethics, or the planet. “I want to stand for something that reflects the kind of beauty I believe in. I am proud of Pure Culture, that’s why I am proud to be part of it,” she shares.

Her role as cofounder solidifies the brand’s commitment not only to conscious beauty, but also to championing local innovation and elevating the standards of the Philippine skincare industry. With this milestone, Pure Culture ushers in a new era where purpose-driven creation and authentic collaboration stand at the forefront.
