Veteran actor Rey PJ Abellana confirmed that he did not receive an invitation to the wedding of his daughter, Carla Abellana, to her non-showbiz partner, Dr. Reginald Santos.

In an interview with entertainment columnist Gorgy Rula, Rey PJ was asked whether he had been invited to the wedding. According to Rula, the actor replied briefly via text message: “No invite po. Good am.” He did not provide any explanation as to why he was not included in the guest list.
When asked what he wished for his daughter following her marriage, Rey PJ shared a more reflective message. In another text quoted by Rula, the veteran actor said: “I feel worried for them & I wish they will acknowledge the righteous ways of God to make them realize what is right & wrong, for them. To avoid bad luck.”
Carla is the daughter of Rey PJ and his former partner Rea Reyes, the daughter of the late veteran actress Delia Razon. Aside from Carla, the former couple also has another daughter named Erica.
Despite the absence of her father at the ceremony, Carla’s wedding vows, shared publicly, offered a glimpse into her emotional journey and sense of peace in her new chapter.
In her vows, the actress reflected on finding love after hardship, describing her relationship with Santos as real, healthy, and grounding. She expressed gratitude for finding clarity after past pain and thanked God for guiding her to what she described as the answers to her “painful whys.”
The issue has also resurfaced amid public recollections of Rey PJ’s controversial remarks during the height of Carla’s separation from her former husband, Tom Rodriguez, in 2022. In a radio interview at the time, Rey PJ drew criticism after defending Rodriguez against cheating allegations, describing a one-night stand as something “normal” for men—comments that sparked backlash from netizens.
As of writing, Carla Abellana has not issued any statement regarding her father’s remarks or his absence from her wedding.
