Comedian-host Vice Ganda and former ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ housemate Shuvee Etrata have officially put an end to rumors of tension between them, following a resurfaced viral video that fueled speculation of a rift.

The issue began when an old clip showed Shuvee reacting with an “eew” when asked if she would consider Vice as someone who could court her or become a romantic interest.
Netizens accused her of being “plastic,” noting that she appeared friendly toward Vice in person yet allegedly said otherwise behind the scenes.
For months, the two were never seen together in public, prompting speculation that Vice had not forgiven Shuvee—even after she reportedly sent a private apology. However, Shuvee’s latest Instagram post erased all doubts after she shared photos of herself standing beside Vice at the first trailer launch of their MMFF 2025 entry, ‘Call Me Mother’.
“Nasa MMFF na kami,” Shuvee wrote. “Thank you so much meme @praybeytbenjamin for this opportunity. Salamat sa paniniwala mo sa amin at sa pagbigay sa amin ng pagkakataon magkasama sa isang pelikula. We love you soooo much!”

Shuvee, who plays student activist Ria in the film, later expressed her gratitude again during a media huddle on December 2. “Excited na excited ako for people to see [the film], thank you so much to Meme and Ate Nadz to be part of it,” she said, referring to Vice Ganda and co-star Nadine Lustre.
She described the experience as “surreal,” saying, “It feels surreal as someone na nanonood ng MMFF films [dati], ngayon part na ako. Excited na akong makita ng mga tao ang pinaghirapan ng buong team.”
Vice Ganda, for his part, only had good words for Shuvee and her fellow PBB alums, praising their natural comedic energy on set.
“Naku, mga komedyante ang mga ‘to. Humahaba ang eksena namin dahil sa kanila… Naturally, ang sasaya nila. And close na sila so sumisingaw ang closeness ng relationship nila,” he said.
The comedian added that their chemistry will show on screen: “Masaya ang shooting experience namin… hindi nga nila alam na tapos na. Sobra kaming nag-enjoy, masaya ang vibe sa set namin.”
The renewed closeness between Vice and Shuvee dispels earlier talk that the comedian had distanced himself from the rising star. The viral “eew” clip—which Shuvee had clarified was only because “both of them are girls”—caused a flurry of criticism online. She previously said she apologized privately and hoped for a chance to “talk things out.”
Shuvee’s career continues to rise. Apart from ‘Call Me Mother’, she is set to star in the Kapuso series ‘Master Cutter’ alongside Dingdong Dantes and Max Collins, and the horror film ‘Huwag Kang Titingin’.
