Actor Derek Ramsay has spoken candidly about the emotional toll of his separation from wife Ellen Adarna, admitting that the breakup deeply hurt him but stressing that he has since found peace.

In the second part of a YouTube vlog by showbiz insider Morly Alinio, Ramsay was asked how the highly publicized controversy surrounding their separation affected him.
“I think everyone knows that, everyone sees that talagang nasaktan ako,” Ramsay said.
Despite acknowledging the pain, the actor declined to discuss specific details of the fallout.
“No comment ako out of respect to everyone involved in that situation. I said I’m at peace,” he added, pausing briefly and appearing emotional.
Ramsay shared that spending time with his family in the United Kingdom during the holidays helped him recover emotionally. He traveled with his daughter Liana and his immediate family, describing the trip as a period of reflection and renewal.
“Nagpapasalamat talaga ako na nakapunta kami ng UK, kasama ko anak ko, kasama ko mommy and daddy ko, kapatid ko, mga anak niya,” he said. “It was a very good time to just reflect, take a breather, and start the new year right.”
Asked how he coped with the negativity and criticism following the breakup, Ramsay pointed to his faith and support system as crucial anchors.
“With good friends, of course, ’yung family ko, they helped me get back to faith. Para siyang reminder, kumatok sa pinto si Lord na ‘Uy, nandito ako,’” he shared. “I just turn my focus to Him, and kahit anong ingay, kahit anong problema, binigay ko na sa Kanya.”
He said that returning to church, praying multiple times a day, and joining a faith-based group led by a priest played a major role in his healing.
Ramsay also reflected on mistakes he believes he made during his married life, particularly allowing his emotions to take control.
“Madami. Letting your emotions take over you,” he admitted. “Lubog ako no’n. Lubog na lubog ako no’n. Parang wala akong gana sa buhay no’n noong mga time na ’yun.”

During the height of his misunderstanding with Adarna, Ramsay revealed that he sought ways to cope, including yoga therapy in Indonesia and a two-week stay in Japan.
When pressed again to elaborate on the breakdown of their marriage, Ramsay firmly declined.
“Ayoko nang pag-usapan ’yan. I just want to move on with my life, and really focus on my mom and my dad, my daughter,” he said. “Ang daming battles eh. You just have to choose your battles.”
Ramsay and Adarna married in November 2021 in Bagac, Bataan, and later held a Peruvian despacho ceremony on their first anniversary. They welcomed their daughter Liana in October 2024. Their separation became a major topic online late last year after Adarna shared posts and recordings alleging infidelity and verbal abuse, claims that fueled intense public debate.
In the same vlog, Ramsay also denied rumors that he is currently in a new relationship, reiterating that his focus is now on healing, faith, and family.
