Kapuso actor Mikoy Morales offered a candid and nuanced take on why some men still masturbate even when they are already in a committed relationship, saying it is not always driven by lust.
Speaking on the vodcast Your Honor, hosted by Chariz Solomon and Buboy Villar, Morales shared that self-pleasure can sometimes be about stress relief rather than sexual desire.
“Sa amin (mga guys), ‘yung porn at pagma-masturbate, meron pa ring times, like, kapag naghahanap ako ng release, hindi lang siya lib*g, ha. May scientific explanation siya,” Mikoy said.
Morales, who is set to marry longtime partner Isa Garcia this March, explained that there are moments when men simply need an emotional or physical release due to intense stress. He also cited studies suggesting that frequent ejaculation may lower the risk of prostate cancer.
Joining the discussion, Kapuso actress Arra San Agustin admitted that the idea of men watching porn despite being in a relationship is difficult for her to accept.
“As a girl, parang hindi ko siya ma-accept,” Arra said, adding that it can feel like a partner is thinking of someone else.
The conversation later shifted to boundaries and honesty in relationships. Mikoy revealed that he was once pursued by a woman who was already in a relationship, a situation he described as “nakakatakot.” Rather than encouraging it, he chose to distance himself.
According to Chariz Solomon, Mikoy eventually confronted the woman directly, telling her he did not want things to become awkward. Chariz also shared that Mikoy’s non-showbiz fiancée, Isa Garcia, is fully aware of his past flings.
Morales emphasized that transparency has always been his rule in relationships.
“Unang bungad namin sa isa’t isa na ‘Ito lahat ng baho ko. So take it or leave it na agad,’” he said. “Nu’ng na-feel ko na parang may pupuntahan ‘to, nilatag ko na lahat. Transparent na agad.”
Chariz praised Isa for her maturity, saying her openness had a positive effect on Mikoy and their relationship.
Morales and Garcia are currently engaged and preparing for their wedding in March. The actor recently made headlines as well after a lighthearted incident involving comedian friend John Feir, who mistakenly thought Mikoy’s wedding was scheduled earlier this year.
