A lighthearted moment unfolded during the February 20 broadcast of ‘Balitang A2Z’ when news anchor Barbie Muhlach couldn’t help but laugh while delivering a sports report about NBA player Bol Bol.

The segment was about Bol Bol’s reported arrival in the Philippines and his supposed stint in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), where he is set to play for TNT Tropang 5G.
At the start of the report, Muhlach was visibly trying to suppress her laughter. Moments later, however, she broke into giggles while continuing the news delivery. Despite the laughter, she was able to finish the report professionally.
Her co-anchor, Raff Herida, later shared the clip and teased her: “Kaya pa Ms Barbie Muhlach?”
Muhlach also reposted the clip on her social media account and explained what triggered her laughter.
“Kasalanan mo to Kaka Raff Herida. Buti naman at we can all share a light hearted moment ahead of yet another series of stressful and polarizing news events this coming week. Been paying my due in media since 2009 and di ko talaga akalain matatawa pa ko but It’s the muffled laughs at the studio that really got me ahahaha. I just hope we did not offend Mr. Bol.”
In the comments section, she highlighted a remark from content creator Eat’s a Small World: “Ganto ung mga pwedeng mawala pag AI nalang ang reporter. Ung simpleng ‘human touch’ na meron tayo.”
To which Muhlach replied: “This comment. Keeping the human in human stories. ”
Before becoming a ‘Balitang A2Z’ anchor, Muhlach built an extensive career in media.
A graduate of Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Communications Technology Management, she first entered the public eye through modeling and pageantry. Known then as Barbie Salvador, she was crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas-Tourism in 2010 and later named Miss Cosmopolitan International in Kuala Lumpur.
She transitioned into journalism in 2013 as a DZMM Traffic Angel and eventually became a full-time news writer for ABS-CBN in 2015. In 2016, she married Aaron Muhlach and became Barbie Salvador-Muhlach.
Following ABS-CBN’s return to free TV through A2Z Channel 11, Muhlach took on her current role as a Balitang A2Z anchor, which airs weeknights at 10:30 p.m.
