Grammy-Winning Artist Laufey Wins Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album At The 68th Grammy Awards

GRAMMY®-winning LA-based Icelandic-Chinese artist, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Laufey took home Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for ‘A Matter of Time’ at the 68th Grammy Awards. The win is her second in the category, following a statue for ‘Bewitched’ at the 2024 awards, which made her the youngest artist to win the category.

‘A Matter of Time’ was released to widespread critical acclaim in August, debuting at #4 on the Billboard 200 chart and #1 on the Jazz Albums chart (where it continues to hold a spot in the top 10). On the album, Laufey further crystalizes her singular sound—one still rooted in her beloved influences, but which forgoes any strict standards or rules. She teamed with a pair of co-producers, one comforting and familiar—Spencer Stewart, who worked with Laufey on her first two albums—and one new to her but deeply attuned to artists looking to open up: Aaron Dessner (Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran). Feeling sonically unrestrained gave Laufey the space to share new sides of herself while exploring sometimes heavier themes.

The win continues to add to a landmark year for Laufey, whose tour throughout the U.K. and Europe kicks off later this month—with dates already sold out—before she returns to the U.S. to play Coachella in April.

Additionally, Laufey’s first children’s book, ‘Mei Mei The Bunny’, is set for release on April 21 via Penguin Random House.
