Regal Entertainment, Inc. and Project 8 Projects have officially confirmed that Dustin Yu is part of the upcoming romantic film ‘Almost Us’, directed by Dan Villegas.

Dustin will portray the character Kenzo (also referred to as Enzo in earlier mentions), joining lead stars JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith. The film is scheduled to premiere in cinemas nationwide on May 6.
Fans quickly expressed excitement following the announcement, especially supporters of the JMFyang pairing, who welcomed Dustin’s inclusion in the project. Many also shared their anticipation online, pledging support for the film.
Adding to the buzz, a promotional video featuring JM and Fyang alongside a standee of Dustin circulated online. In the clip, Fyang was seen asking JM to carry the standee, though she appeared dissatisfied with how he handled it. She eventually took it from him and tossed it back, leaving JM to carry it again—an interaction that amused fans.

Speculation has also emerged about Dustin’s role in the story, with some wondering whether his character will serve as a potential complication in the relationship between JM and Fyang.
Prior to this, the trio also drew attention during the Paru-Paro Festival in November, where fans noticed Dustin watching JM and Fyang during a fireworks display, further fueling interest in their on-screen dynamics.
‘Almost Us’ is part of a growing slate of local films generating buzz ahead of its theatrical release this summer.
