Actor Jeric Gonzales confirmed that he and former beauty queen Rabiya Mateo remain on good terms despite their breakup.

During the premiere night of his new film ‘Graduation Day’, Gonzales was asked about his current relationship with Mateo. The actor said they are still friends and continue to support each other.
“Oo nga, eh! I’m thankful. Siyempre touching. Of course, may pinagsamahan kami. It’s good to know na binabalikan niya lahat ang maganda naming pinagsamahan,” Gonzales said.
According to the actor, they occasionally check on each other, and he appreciates that Mateo continues to speak positively about their past relationship in interviews.
Gonzales also shared that their relationship did not end on bad terms, leaving the possibility of reconciliation open.
“Tulad ng sinabi ko, wala naman kaming bad ending, ‘di ba?” he said.
He also expressed pride in Mateo’s recent academic achievement after she scored 741 in the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT), placing her in the top 1% of examinees.
Meanwhile, Gonzales is currently busy promoting ‘Graduation Day’, which will hit cinemas on March 18.
The drama film is produced by Bentria Productions under the direction of Dante Balboa.
The movie also features veteran actress Elizabeth Oropesa along with Mygz Molino, Angelie Sanoy, Aidan Veneracion, Rico Barrera, Simon Ibarra, and Panteen Palanca.
Gonzales said he can personally relate to his role in the film, recalling his own experiences as a college student.
“Naka-relate ako kasi noong college ako naranasan ko rin ‘yung mga naranasan ni Simon. Ang hirap, ang hirap. But then, kapag natapos mo ‘yung course mo, very fulfilling talaga,” he shared.
The actor finished nursing in college and hopes the film will inspire young people to pursue their education and persevere through challenges.
