Stand-up comedian Tonton Soriano happily revealed that he is now engaged to his partner Jhonnas Desigaño after a surprise marriage proposal held during a birthday celebration at a resort in Laguna.
The special moment was shared on Soriano’s social media accounts, where he posted photos capturing the joyful engagement with his longtime partner.
The proposal took place while Desigaño was celebrating his birthday with close friends, many of whom are fellow comedians of Soriano.
Among those present during the gathering were Iyah Mina, Miss Ohw, Kitty Montecarlo, Ayee, Verna Tuliao, and Petite.
The moment was also documented in the vlog of the comedy group Beks Friends, which includes Soriano, Kitty Montecarlo, and Orli Domingo.
In the vlog episode released on March 5, 2026, the group was playing the popular guessing game Pinoy Henyo.
One of the words Soriano had to guess was the name of his partner. After correctly guessing it, Desigaño suddenly appeared in front of him.
Initially surprised and slightly embarrassed, Soriano joked: “Baby, mamaya na, nagba-vlog kami.”
However, Desigaño proceeded with the plan and knelt in front of him while holding an engagement ring.
The unexpected moment drew cheers and applause from their friends as Soriano happily said “Yes.”
In his social media caption, Soriano expressed disbelief and gratitude over the proposal.
“Hindi ko hiniling kay Lord pero binigay niya! Edi GO NA!”
He also shared that he never imagined such a moment would happen in his life.
“Hindi talaga ako makapaniwala kasi wala naman sa dream natin na magkakaroon ng ganito, lalo na na nasa third sex tayo. Salamat kasi ginawa mo ito para sa akin.”
For his part, Desigaño highlighted how relationships like theirs reflect a changing generation.
“Ito na yung new generation. I-embrace na natin na love wins.”
The engagement celebration was attended not only by friends but also by the mothers of both Soriano and Desigaño, who expressed their support for the couple.
The night concluded with cheers, a kiss between the newly engaged pair, and even a fireworks display at the venue.
