Actor Dustin Yu addressed questions about his relationship with Bianca de Vera following their recent Taiwan trip, saying they are in a “getting there” stage rather than officially labeling their status.
During the mediacon of ‘Almost Us’, Yu was asked about the real score between them after their sweet photos together sparked speculation online.

“Ah, wala ‘yun kasi nakita ko, parang naghahanap siya ng photographer. Sabi ko, ‘sige, ako na lang ang photographer mo.’ So, sinamahan ko lang siya para maging photographer niya,” he initially joked.
He later clarified, “Ito naman, nagdyo-joke lang ako.”
When pressed further, Yu shared that their relationship is in a good place.
“Ang masasabi ko lang, sobrang okay kami, ‘yung relationship namin,” he said.
He also expressed his continued presence and support for de Vera.
“At andito pa rin ako, andito ako, hindi mawawala ‘yun, para sa kanya,” he added.
Asked if they already have a label, the actor admitted he is still proving himself.
“Andu’n pa ako sa process na talagang pinapatunayan ko pa ang sarili ko sa kanya. Araw-araw, hindi ako hihinto hangga’t dumating sa panahon na you know,” he said.
Yu rejected the idea that they are already an “almost us.”
“Almost us kasi is parang past tense na, eh. ‘Pag ‘almost us,’ parang tapos na, ‘di ba? So for me, ‘getting there,’” he explained.
The actor also shared how their connection developed, noting that de Vera was among the first people he worked with after exiting Pinoy Big Brother.
“Paglabas ko ng Bahay ni Kuya, una kong nakatrabaho talaga is si Bianca… tapos from that, tuluy-tuloy na,” he recalled.
Beyond work, Yu said their bond continued to grow.
“Sa work, lagi kaming magkasama. Lock-in, magkasama kami. Tapos siyempre outside work, yung relationship, friendship namin kumbaga, magkasama pa rin,” he said.
Meanwhile, Yu also expressed appreciation for de Vera as a colleague.
“Iba, e. I mean… masarap katrabaho si Bianca. So far, siya yung pinakamasayang katrabaho ko,” he shared.
Yu plays Kenzo in ‘Almost Us’, directed by Dan Villegas and produced by Regal Entertainment. The film, topbilled by JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith, is set to premiere in cinemas on May 6.
