Loveteam partners JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith confirmed that their relationship remains in the courting stage, as they continue to grow closer while focusing on their respective careers.

During the grand mediacon of their first lead film ‘Almost Us’, the two were asked about the real score between them, where Smith candidly shared that Ibarra is still pursuing her.
“Very open po kami to talk sa aming relationship na nililigawan niya po ako and yeah, very open kami na talagang sinasabi namin na nanliligaw pa rin po si JM hanggang ngayon,” she said.
When asked why she has not yet given her answer, Smith explained that she does not want to rush things.
“Masyado pa pong mabilis. So, up until now, JM is still courting me. So, ang pangit po kasi kung mamadaliin namin ‘yung isang bagay na hindi naman kailangang laging nagmamadali,” she said.
She added that both of them are currently prioritizing their careers.
“Focused din po kami sa career namin while doing our thing,” she said.
Ibarra echoed her statement, reaffirming that he has been open about his intentions from the start.
“Totoo naman po lahat ‘yun. Since day 1, naging vocal ako sa part na ‘yun,” he said.
The two also drew kilig from fans when asked who they would not want to be labeled as “almost us.” Smith directly pointed to Ibarra.
“Hindi naman na ako lalayo eh, ‘eto… Si JM, of course, ayokong ma-label lang kami na ‘almost us,’” she said.
Ibarra gave the same answer, adding, “para sa part 2, finally, it’s us.”
Directed by Dan Villegas, ‘Almost Us’ is set to hit cinemas nationwide on May 6 under Regal Entertainment, alongside co-stars Dustin Yu, Yuki Takahashi, Sam Samarita, and JM Salvado.
