Courtside reporter Apple David apologized to people who were offended by her rumored relationship with Chad Gammad, an 18-year-old player reportedly part of the Letran Knights.

In a report aired on Frontline Pilipinas on Tuesday, May 26, Apple acknowledged that she is aware of the risks and criticism surrounding their large age gap.
“But it’s a risk we are both taking and I hope people can be kind enough to allow us to do that in peace,” Apple said.
She also thanked those who have shown understanding and support amid the controversy.
“Sa mga tao po na nakakaintindi, sa mga tao po na sumusuporta, maraming maraming salamat po sa inyo.”
At the same time, the courtside reporter apologized to those who felt uncomfortable or offended by the situation while asking the public to respect their happiness.
“Sa mga na-offend, we’re sorry but we just ask for respect as this should be a happy time for us.”
According to the report, the two have reportedly been in the dating stage for about a month.
The controversy first gained traction after Apple shared photos online featuring a mystery man whose face was intentionally hidden. Netizens later speculated that the person was Chad Gammad, an 18-year-old basketball player.
The issue intensified after Apple addressed criticisms during a TikTok Live, where she questioned why people were criticizing her for allegedly dating someone younger.
“Masama bang bigyan ng chance? Nag-click, e. What am I supposed to do?” she previously said.
In another Facebook post, Apple also shared a photo with the mystery man while using the song ‘Daddy’s Home’ as background music, further fueling online speculation.
The post drew mixed reactions from netizens, with some expressing support while others openly criticized the rumored relationship because of the age gap.
Despite the controversy, Apple has yet to directly confirm or deny the identity of the mystery man and has not explicitly mentioned Chad’s name in her public statements.
