Actress Janine Gutierrez admitted that she is not friends with any of her former boyfriends, although she believes maintaining friendships with ex-partners can work for some people.
The actress made the revelation during her guest appearance on Kylie Verzosa’s podcast Almost Honest, where the two discussed relationships, moving on, and their personal experiences.
When Kylie asked whether she remained friends with any of her ex-boyfriends, Janine answered without hesitation.
“No!” she said with a laugh.
Kylie then shared that she also chooses to completely move on from past relationships.
“Me, too. So I have like blocked, deleted, erased from my memory and my life.”
While Janine said she does not keep in touch with her former partners, she clarified that she does not dismiss the idea altogether.
“I know people who are friends with their exes, so I can see how it’s possible.”
Janine has had two publicly confirmed relationships in the past—with Elmo Magalona from 2014 to 2016 and Rayver Cruz from 2017 to 2021. She was also romantically linked to Paulo Avelino, although neither of them publicly confirmed the relationship.
The actress is now in a relationship with Jericho Rosales, whom she began dating in 2024 after they worked together on the series Lavender Fields.
During the same podcast, Janine shared that before meeting Rosales, she wrote down a list of qualities she wanted in a future partner to help her stay true to her standards.
“I wrote down a list so that I won’t settle for any less. And then when I met him, I was like, ‘Wow, Jesus heard me.'”
She added that when she first got to know Rosales, she realized he possessed all the qualities she had written down.
Janine also spoke about her upcoming Prime Video series ‘The Loyalty Game’, where she stars alongside Rosales and Sofia Andres. The series revolves around the concept of “loyalty testing,” a practice in which people hire others to test their partner’s faithfulness through online interactions.
The actress admitted she was initially unaware that such services existed until the project was pitched to her, noting that social media has significantly changed how relationships and infidelity are viewed today.
